An Update on Fr. Ian's Health
After Christmas, Fr. Ian will be starting aggressive treatment for his cancer. It will consist of a short round of intense radiation therapy followed by chemotherapy. Radiation therapy will take place at the University of Chicago while Chemo will be done locally under the direction of the U of C. The doctors at U of C are hopeful for the success of this treatment approach.
Fr. Ian appreciates all your prayers and well wishes.

Ministry of Prayers for Healing
Amid much suffering, and great challenges thee days, there is the sound of choirs heralding hope in that very same birth of God made flesh. For in this Season of the Silent Night, we are reminded that we are God Searchers and God Finders… the meaning of Epiphany joy! Such joy, hope and relief are in the recent good news of the newly developed vaccines, a sign of prayers answered with God’s presence in science and medicine for healing.
We know that more hope for healing continues. Perhaps for members in our families or that of friends. Hope for healing also continues in response to what many of us learned this past November when we were informed that our Pastor, Fr. Ian Williams was diagnosed with cancer. However, in Father Ian’s compassionate pastoral care, he reminded us to pray not only for his healing, but to pray for all who are suffering from diseases such as cancers and leukemia.

We, as a parish community, can take on a communal action as a faith family in response to Fr. Ian’s announcement. Naturally, we choose St. Peregrine, the patron saint for those suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses to intercede for our prayers. Therefore, you are invited to join our newly formed parish-wide “Ministry of Prayers for Healing”.
Each church has been given an icon of St. Peregrine, which is displayed in the entranceway, as a reminder of this prayer ministry. St. Peregrine prayer cards are also available as a guide. Please take a card or use your own prayers as you wish. We ask that you find your own quiet time each day to pray with us. We know the power of united prayer, as we place our trust and hope in God.
