Cheryl Gardner

Cheryl Gardner, daughter of John and Lucille Gardner, grew up on her family farm outside Union Mills, Indiana. After graduating from South Central High School, Cheryl continued her education at Ball State University. While completing her degree in education, Cheryl became involved in the Newman Center on campus as a singer and guitarist for on-campus Masses.

After graduation, Cheryl returned home to teach for over 40 years at South Central and received her Masters degree at Valparaiso University.
Besides teaching, Cheryl has a love for music and theater. She has performed in many LaPorte Little Theater productions, sang and played guitar for Saint Joseph Masses, and taught religion classes. One of her favorite roles was playing Mary Magdelene in Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell. After retiring from her career in education, Cheryl became involved in Saint Vincent dePaul Society, Peace and Justice Commission, and became Director of Religion at St. Joseph Church. Lastly, Cheryl loves spending time with her family and friends. |
